Spotted on the downtown 6 last week (pre-snowpocalypse), these limited editions are actually a collaboration between two distinct Nike product lines: ACG, or All Conditions Gear, and the Nike Air Force One. Nike applied ACG’s protective materials, such as industrial leathers, to the classic design of the Nike Air Force One for the first time in this 2008 release. Though the label might say “All Conditions Gear,” I’m not sure the mixture of dirt, slush, oil, urine, and garbage that’s currently on the city streets was one of the conditions tested. But, hey, its worth a try!

These Irons have been on ice for way too long

I’m not into the whole deadstock thing. I think shoes are meant to be worn and you shouldn’t have to go to your closet to show off your most prized pairs. With that being said, I have built up a decent sized collection over the years and not everything goes straight into rotation. Days turn in to months, months turn in to years, and then you find yourself looking for (and often unable to find) that perfect occasion to actually pull them out, knowing that you will have to deal with looking down at your feet with every step that you take. Whew.

Anyway, it’s time for me to bring a new pair into the rotation and I want your help. Keep reading to see two more candidates and vote on which pair should come out of the cooler and onto my feet.

Any smart sneakerhead will tell you that a snowstorm means high-quality leathers and suedes must retreat to the closet until the weather blows over. No risk in ruining a great pair over something as silly as snow. But still, what to wear? In the past the arrival of bad weather meant chucking on some rubbers (no, not those rubbers) with only one goal in mind; staying dry. Winter has long been an ongoing victory of function over form in terms of footwear.

However, retailers have recently made overtures to the mal-weather style conscience enabling people to make statements in the slush.

Might I recommend a solid waterproof construction with rubber out-soles and a simple silhouette for style:

So this past weekend was no exception. Chilling across the bar was none other than a long-lost buddy from my high school days. Not only did I happen to catch him in town on a very short visit from Tokyo, but I also caught him rockin some great old school Dunks. Well of course I had to give him a shout out on the blog. Keep it real DK!

Gold high top adidas with a black dress; too much?  Or kinda fresh?  More and more lately I see sneakers paired with a skirt or a dress…I’ve always been a fan, but I’ve talked to plenty of people – girls and guys – who aren’t into the look.

About six weeks ago we promised you a weekly Store Report every Wednesday. We made good on that for a few weeks but the holidays have proven to be a hindrance to the StreetSneak’s progress. Come 2010 – after we’ve had our fill of egg nog and turkey – we will most definitely be back on track with Store Reports and a whole bunch of new goodies (StreetSneak t-shirts and stickers, and a bunch of new content), but we want to invite readers to submit their own Store Reports. It can be two sentences or two pages, and it doesn’t matter where you are on the globe. The more sets of eyes the better, and you will be doing a great service to your fellow sneaker heads. Even once we are back doing our own weekly Store Reports, any time you pop into a shop we would be interested to know what the experience was like.

It’s been a minute since we ran a Cop or Not (our bread and butter) or posted a Dunk SB, and you know we’re all about multi-tasking at StreetSneak, so it seemed like the perfect time to fuse these two old favorites. Say what you will about the ubiquitous Dunk SB and its seeming mass production, they still put out some of the hottest shoes you will find. The yellow above is bold, but I’m kind of feeling them. What do you think?

This Thursday, Laced Ladies brings us to…Marshall’s?! These Vandal Extremely High’s are far better than the Sneakerletto’s from a few weeks ago, but nonetheless I can’t say that I’m surprised to see them being sold at a store featuring a “Home Goods” section. They aren’t fakes and they do achieve some level of fashionability,but I think we can pretty safely say that these are leftovers from a mostly failed experiment.
