User Submission: Skating Sneaks

Don't have to be a skater to where shoes like these

Don't have to be a skater to where shoes like these

We’ve been to Mexico City and back, now our latest user submission takes us to San Francisco.  This appears to be an older model of the Emerica “Ledge,” but I’ll be the first to admit that Emerica identifying is not my expertise.  Emerica is one of two sneaker companies from skater/designer Pierre André Senizergues, the other being Etnies, and was founded in 1996.

UPDATE 5:32pm: I have been informed that these are actually the “Reynolds 3,” named after professional skateboarder Andrew Reynolds.

Skateboarding shoes have come a long, long way.  From Nike SB taking them to new levels of collectability, and the consistency of companies like Vans and DC, skateboarding shoes are a part of the mainstream and here to stay.

Check out the poll below and let us know what your favorite skateboarding shoe is…

Vans, obviously. And not those poser checkered ones. I’m talkin about my custom-colored vans from 1994. If only i had a picture. Light, cafe latte toe and heel, dark mocha in the middle, white Vans wave though the side. least comfortable shoe ever. but i was the bomb. I rotated between these and my bright organge adidas gazelles.
