Kanye and his EGO

"I am the new King of Pop"

"I am the new King of Pop"

I had this picture that I snapped of the Kanye Nike Air Yeezy’s and I really wasn’t planning on using it. It was just chillin’ in the archives until I heard that Kanye had crowned himself “the new king of pop” just one month after Michael Jackson’s death. I’ve never been a fan of Kanye’s ego and wanted to say something, so the opportunity presented itself to use the picture.

Keep reading for Kanye’s full quote.

Jordan: Cop or Not?

Jordan Brand 60+ model

Jordan Brand 60+ model

You could make the argument that Nike’s line of Air Jordan sneakers are responsible for the sneaker culture of today. With the innovative designs and annual editions, athletic sneakers became collectible and high fashion for the first time. It also showed the retail world that consumers were willing to pay top dollar for a sneaker. The unprecedented success lead to a spin off brand: Jordan, which is a sub division of Nike. Jordan Brand continues to put out new sneaker models long past Michael Jordan’s retirement from basketball, such as the 60+ seen above.

I’ve never been obsessed with Jordan’s, but I have an enormous respect for what these sneakers have meant to the sneaker world. I would also be lying if I said I haven’t worn many pairs of Jordan’s myself.

It’s time for the Jordan edition of Cop or Not, vote below:

Chicks in Kicks

Great calves. And Nike Dunks.

The laced up ladies needed a little more love, so the StreetSneaks are back with the second installment of Chicks in Kicks. The Dunks above were actually snapped walking the streets of Singapore. Be on the lookout for a full User Submission from Singapore.

Women’s shoes on Guys

Girls, Guys, whatever, these are hot.

Girls, Guys, whatever, these are hot.

It’s Friday, and the Streetsneaks wanted to leave you with something to ponder heading into the weekend. These beautiful Dunks directly above are a women’s shoe. My first reaction upon seeing them was not male or female, it was “how can I get a pair?” In our ‘Chicks in Kicks’ entry about a month ago, we first touched on the issue of men preferring the colors on women’s sneakers, and in some cases (I’m a self admitted offender) even wearing a womens model.

That brings us to our question below: Would you wear a women’s sneaker? There’s a lot of variables here so this is more than just a yes or no question. Ponder and vote, we won’t judge.

That’s right, the original shoe with the pocket inside is alive and kickin’ (no pun intended).

Now who is gonna own up to owning a pair?
